Here is your complete guide to using this powerful tool for network recovery. What is R-Studio Agent Portable?
This tool is a lightweight helper program made by R-Tools Technology, Inc.. It works alongside the full R-Studio Corporate or Technician software.
The Main Computer: This is your working computer where the main R-Studio app is installed.
The Remote Computer: This is the broken machine where you lost your data.
The portable agent lets the main computer look inside the broken computer’s drives over your office or home network. Step 1: Prepare Your Flash Drive
You must set up the portable agent using a separate, working computer. Insert a clean USB flash drive into your working computer.
Copy the R-Studio Agent Portable executable file directly to the flash drive. Safely remove the flash drive. Step 2: Run the Agent on the Broken Computer
Now, take the flash drive to the machine that needs data recovery. Plug the flash drive into the remote computer.
Open the drive folder and double-click the file to run it. It will start instantly without an installation wizard.
Look for the R-Studio Agent icon in the bottom-right taskbar tray. Right-click that icon and choose Configure. Set a strong password.
Type in the IP address of your main, working computer so the agent knows where to send the data.
Note: Make sure to temporarily disable any firewalls on both computers so they can talk to each other. Step 3: Connect from the Main Computer
Go back to your main working computer to start the actual rescue process. Open your main R-Studio software. Click the Connect to Remote button on the top menu.
A list of computers on your network will pop up. Select the broken computer.
Type in the password you created in Step 2 and click connect.
Once connected, the broken computer’s hard drives will appear inside your main R-Studio window. They will look just like regular drives connected directly to your own computer. Step 4: Scan and Recover Your Files Now you can safely pull the files across the network. R-Studio: Data Recovery Data Recovery over Network – R-Studio
